A&M Cycling Team MTB Clinic by Will Ross
- Thursday, September 15 4:30-7:30 pm
- Lake Bryan
- Free for paid members
- $20 for non-member TAMU students
- Day parking pass for Lake Bryan is $5
The main goal of this clinic is to get new MTB riders comfortable enough to race. The clinic will focus on basic skills: how to get on and off the bike in an efficient manner, how to lean going up and down hills, etc. We can also talk about the events at a typical collegiate race weekend. It will be very useful and low-key, so don’t be afraid! (Note: if you are experienced and still want to go, we need help with demonstrations so fill out the form. You will also likely be able to get a few pointers from Will Ross in the interim.)
About Will Ross: Will is a prominent figure in the Austin cycling community. He is co-founder of Vagary Events which hosts a weekly seasonal MTB race called the Dirt Remedy (http://vagaryevents.com/dirt-remedy) in Austin. He competitively races road, mountain, cyclocross and triathlon. Over the past 15 years he has assisted in the founding of the following cycling teams: United Youth Sports, Texas Premiere Men’s Racing Team and Team Hotel San Jose. Long story short: you will not want to miss this opportunity! Contact Kristen Kjellberg with any questions you may have. If you have never ridden a MTB, find one to borrow (via the listserv) and go try it out this weekend.
